This eight-week course starts with an introduction to the various types of stone and demonstrates the use of tools.
Discover the art of stone carving
Ivan Hunter has been running stone sculpture classes for over a decade and is now offering classes to adults on Saturday mornings.
While Western classical stone sculpture can be technically challenging, Ivan has developed a teaching method that is much more suitable for beginners. You’ll learn how to choose a subject to work with and bring it to life in stone, whether it’s a person, animal, or mystical creature.
The course includes instruction on finishing and polishing your sculpture, resulting in a piece that you’ll be proud of, whether it’s simple or detailed. By the end of the course, you’ll have developed a new skill set and created a beautiful sculpture.
